Fly fishing weekend @ Mt Snow!

This past weekend we had the pleasure of teaming up with the Adaptive Sports team at Mount Snow along with New England Adventures for 3 days of fly fishing in scenic New England!

From fishing pockets and pillows to seams and folds tight line nymphing, to roll-casting on the raft - drifting down the river, or throwing streamers at the reservoir, there was no shortage of action to be had! The low water proved to be a challenge but who doesn't like a good challenge?! And can you say 'foliage'? The scenery did not disappoint.

The house proved to be a crucial component as it usually does on trips like these. A home base; headquarters, FOB. At the end of each day, after being split up and having completed our individual missions for the day, we all meet back up, talk about the day we had and the day to come. We joke about who caught the biggest fish, or didn't, along with the days successes and failures. The next morning, conversation resumes over coffee and breakfast. Getting ready all together while continuing to share stories, strategies and finalize plans for the day.

Overall, another successful trip! An awesome group of veterans and staff, its safe to say we all leave gaining new friends. Great collaboration between 3 groups that share the same goals - getting veterans into the outdoors to enjoy the land and free the mind. We are already talking about doing a similar event again in the spring so stay posted.

Thank you to our host, Yuri and the Adaptive Sports at Mount Snow for having us! Thank you Todd and New England Adventures for the important work you do with veterans! Thank you to local guide Oleh for being an awesome dude! And a big THANK YOU to our veterans for your service and sacrifice!!

Fishing is therapy.
